Writers find inspiration everywhere, right? I find inspiration in people I admire. My blog was partially inspired by a lovely lady who I’ve known for quite some time. I’ve watched her mature from an elementary school girl of whom I cheered with competitively, to an incredible young woman. She is wise beyond her years and is truly just a positive, fun person to be around. Thanks Randi for my What’s Up Wednesday inspiration and letting me be a part of it. Check out her blog at https://randitionsbyrandi.wordpress.com/. You won’t be disappointed!
What I’m eating
I’ve been a fan of sushi for quite some time. I’ll admit, I’m actually terrible with using chopsticks. But still, I graciously take on the opportunity to indulge in a sushi roll. I may have had sushi every few months in the past. Recently, it’s been a few times a week. In April, I went to Tamari in Lawrenceville. It was by far some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. I was sad to hear that it actually closed a few days ago. It will be hard to top it, the eel roll was to die for!
What I’m loving
My hair has always naturally produced a ton of oil. It’s not always a bad thing, it gives it some body, and no one wants to look at dry hair. I have always envied those individuals who can go days without washing their hair. It’d be nice to not have to spend a half hour straightening my hair every single day. In lieu of my solution to this problem, I wondered if I should try dry shampoo. My friend Ashley recommended Herbal Essence’s dry shampoo. Let me just tell you, it works wonders. My long days start at 4:30 am when I get up for clinical and finish at midnight after working. When I have no time at home between events, it’s nice to have my dry shampoo for a quick hair fix.
Throughout my teenage years and early adulthood, I’ve always been a firm believer in lip gloss (except when the wind blows following a freshly applied coat). Lip stick was always frightening for some reason. I’m not quite sure if it was the intensity or the fact that I once associated lip stick with older women that deterred me from it. I decided to give it another shot and have stumbled upon some colors and brands I love, love, love. One of the best is Too Faced, Marshmellow Bunny. The pink color is light, fun, lasts long, and doesn’t clump like I’ve found a lot of other lip products do.
What I’m working on
My blog, obviously!! I’m completely new at this. So any critiques, recommendations, advice, or compliments are greatly appreciated.
What I’m excited about
In less than a month, my baby sister graduates from high school. I can blatantly recall events from the day when we first brought my lifelong best friend home. It’s hard to believe she’s an adult now. I am BEYOND proud of the amazing woman she has become, she truly is something. She’s going to love her graduation present (at least I hope so), and I have a killer outfit to wear on the special day (Norwin blue and gold of course).
What I’m watching
I’ve never been one to watch a lot of TV. The only show I’ve ever been able to binge watch is Law and Order SVU. Who can resist the opening credits as you are trying to switch to another channel before it’s too late during an all day marathon on USA. Ashley is OBSESSED with Gossip Girl. I thought she was crazy until she convinced me to watch it over our spring break. Let me just say, I am hooked. From Serena’s fashion sense, to Blair’s wit, and Chuck’s undeniable charm, it’s hard for me to stop a Netflix binge. I’m currently on Season 4. No one tell me anything, I already know some big details of what’s to come, although I’d rather not. THE HYPE IS REAL.
What I’m listening to
Just a view into my most recently played songs on my iPhone. Honey I’m Good is too catchy and has such a feel good beat. And I’m a HUGE Andy Grammar fan.

What I’m doing this weekend
Working of course. I will also probably try to squeeze in some studying, gym time, and socializing in between. Don’t forget Sunday is Mother’s Day. Although I won’t get to spend the day with my mom because I will be working, every day is Mother’s Day. My mom has always been my role model, my rock, best friend, and the strongest woman I’ve ever known. She also just so happens to know the two presents I bought her; she’s never been one for surprises. Don’t forget to celebrate your mom this weekend!
