Friday has to be a favorite F word of most individuals. So in honor of my favorite day of the week, here are some things I’m currently loving.
1. Urban Decay Perversion Mascara
I’ve tried probably every brand of mascara under the sun. With each, I can come up with at least one complaint. They either clump, end up smearing below my eyes by the end of the day, or just don’t have a dramatic enough look. I can honestly say I have no complaints with this product, and I absolutely love the way it makes my eyelashes stand out. I have extremely sensitive eyes and have had no issues with this mascara.
2. Quest Bars
Since being diagnosed with Celiac disease, it’s been a struggle to have access to gluten free options anywhere I go. It is a realistic worry that I could potentially be stuck somewhere without something to eat. One of my favorite things to carry on me is a quest bar. Unlike other protein bars, these are actually filled with some good stuff! A cookies and cream quest bar (which happens to be a personal favorite of mine) contains 17 g of fiber, which is 68% of your recommended daily intake! All of the protein bars are gluten free, and they actually taste good! My personal favorites are chocolate chip cookie dough, cookies n cream, cinnamon roll, and s’mores.
3. Statement Necklaces
When statement necklaces came to the forefront around 2 years ago, I was instantly on board with this fashion trend. I guess they take me back to my younger days of rocking huge, obnoxious costume jewelry. I’ll admit, when I first started buying them, I was almost self conscious when wearing them and lacked confidence in pairing them with outfits. Fast-forward to 2015 and I’ll practically pair a statement necklace with any outfit. I have quite the collection developing and hope these don’t go out of style any time soon.
4. Talking Body
I’m completely obsessed with the song Talking Body, by Tove Lo. For me it has the perfect sexy, edgy feel that every summer hit should have. I’d be lying if I said it didn’t play over my iPhone at least 20 times a day.
5. Front Porch Gazing
I remember when my parents were building our current house, one thing my mom was adamant about was having a large front porch. As a child, I could care less about what our house had unless it concerned the size of my bedroom. Now I completely understand why my mom wanted this. One of the best, most relaxing things is to just sit on my front porch early in the morning with a cup of coffee. Now that it finally feels like summer, I am happy to do this again!
Probably 5 out of my last 6 purchases have been rompers. Dress them up or dress them down, a romper is the perfect addition to any wardrobe. The only complaint here is when using the restroom – ladies I know you understand!
Here’s my most recent romper purchase – of course from The Line!
7. Meat and Potatoes
Until this week, I’ve only ever eaten at Meat and Potatoes for brunch (which is highly, highly recommended). I went there this week for dinner, and it was just as good as brunch, if not better! I had the Salmon, and while the entree name sounds plain, it was anything but that. The black rice that came with it was phenomenal and the fried egg helped tie together the rest of the entree, giving it a great presentation and even better taste. I love the atmosphere here and hope to return soon – any time of the day!
Cheers to the weekend!
