What’s Up Wednesday [[September Edition]]

It has been quite some time friends – so let me just fill you in on what I’m up to and what I’m loving this month.

What I’m Eating

Since September 1st at midnight, pumpkin spice has been everywhere.  I definitely don’t hate it.  In late August, I heard word of Pumpkin Spice Cheerios on Facebook.  Yes, as the pumpkin spice lover I am, I too, was skeptical of how these would taste.  While spending more money than I meant to in Target, I came across a box in the grocery section.  After trying it once I arrived home, I was hooked.  The amount of ‘pumpkin spice’ was perfect, and since now all cheerios are certified gluten free, I was a happy camper.  Let’s just add this to the list of pumpkin spice essentials for every basic girl.  #basic #itspslseason

What I’m Drinking

We recently started selling Truly Spiked and Sparkling where I work.  It is basically hard sparkling water that is 5% alcohol and only 100 calories per bottle.  They are super refreshing and you don’t even have to feel guilty about drinking one!  My favorite flavor is the grapefruit and pomelo.

What I’m Watching

I finally jumped on the Stranger Things bandwagon on Netflix.  Let’s just say, I don’t regret it.  #sorrynotsorry

What I’m Looking Forward to

Next week at this time, I will be in Sin City celebrating the  marriage of one of my good friends.  I’m looking forward to spending some time with some of my coworkers from the restaurant, past and present.  I’ve also never been to Las Vegas, but it has long been on my bucket list.  Ninety degree days by the pool followed by tequila filled nights seems like just the break from everyday life this chick needs.  We’re actually heading back to Pittsburgh right before the iHeart Radio Music Festival begins, so I for sure will have my eye out for some of my favorites.  I’m also super pumped we’re going to see Celine Dion – you can thank my mom for my excitement for that one.  #vegasbaby #hempelhitch

What I’m Listening to

It’s safe to say the phrase “pull me closer in the backseat of your rover” has been ingrained in my brain for the past month.  The hype and obsession with the Chainsmokers is real.  I expect to see big things from them in the future.

Equally addicting is new music by Hailee Steinfield.  From the first time I heard ‘Starving’ it has been on repeat through the headphones of my iphone.  I’m not sure if it is even getting local radio air yet, but it’s literally just as addicting as Closer. #onrepeat

What I’m Working on

Or shall I say, what I need to start working on.  I plan on taking my CCRN exam next spring, so I need to find myself getting back in the study/school mode here once the weather gets crappy.  It would be nice to call myself a certified critical care registered nurse.

And per usual, I have a bunch of half-completed blog posts sitting in my drafts – I swear I’ll get my thoughts together one day to complete all of them.  #gettingmylifeandthoughtstogether

What I’m Obsessing Over

Two words – lash extensions.  I’m hooked.  The obsession is worse than acrylic nails in high school.  The first time I had lash extensions put on was last December, before my graduation from nursing school.  I really liked the way they looked, but I honestly didn’t think they could potentially be something I’d do long term.  I recently found a lash artist who is literally A-MAZING.  She does such a good job, and explains everything she does.  I find it so relaxing to go and get my lashes touched up while we gossip.  It is so fabulous to not have to wear eye makeup and to wake up feeling pretty.  I can’t remember a day that has gone by when someone hasn’t complimented my lashes!

What Beauty Products I’ve Added to my Routine

While moving, I discovered some samples I had from previous birchboxes (RIP to my birchbox subscription).  I came across a sample-sized body wash.  The name intrigued me so I decided to give it a try.  I love the labeling on the bottle, and the body wash smells amazing.  The body wash is by Not Soap Radio and the scent is Liquid Freud which is a coconut milk mango and vanilla fragrance.  After looking at the website, the scent is designed for”a sanity check” and “emotional well being.”  It seemed fitting for me at some points in life.  I’m in love and can’t wait to try some other fragrances and products!

What I’m Doing this Weekend

Besides packing for Vegas and working, I’m looking forward to spending some time with my family on Sunday.  We’re going to dinner for my stepdad’s birthday, and my mom and I plan on going to the shooting range.

Let’s finish the week strong!  And here’s to the start of my favorite season 🙂
